Vickie Connor is a video journalist and FAA-licensed drone pilot at The Oregonian, based in Portland, Ore.

Previously, Vickie worked as a visual journalist at The Desert Sun in Palm Springs, Calif. She also served as the organizer, coach and emcee for The Desert Sun’s Storytellers Project, a live, first-person storytelling event.

Other previous stints include Kaiser Health News in DC, Baltimore magazine, Takoma Voice, Capital News Service and freelance work. She is a graduate of University of Maryland’s Philip Merrill College of Journalism.

Outside of work, Vickie enjoys teaching and practicing yoga, spending time with her dog, Stella, and all things related to outdoor recreation. Her favorite adventure thus far has been backpacking Torres del Paine National Park in Chilean Patagonia.
